Speaker Steve Tilley and President Pro-Tem Rob Mayer delivered their opening session speeches to the legislature. Both leaders continued their pledge of no new taxes and that state government will have to “live within its means”. The estimated shortfall for the State is around 400 million dollars and the budget will dominate this legislative session.
